At the end of 2021, IMCA introduced an industry recognised professional accreditation for skilled diving system inspectors. The scheme was introduced to help the offshore energy diving industry to ensure 'objective auditing' of diving systems by inspectors while improving the quality, consistency, professionalism and credibility of a diving system DESIGN (Diving Equipment System Inspection Guidance Note) inspection. As a result of this change, Namaka Subsea are proud to announce the release of our latest course in our training catalogue, Accredited Diving System Inspectors Course (ADSI).
The poor quality of DESIGN inspections worldwide led to IMCA implementing the ADSI scheme and a register of IMCA approved DESIGN inspectors. It is, therefore, necessary for the industry to identify a core group of experienced DESIGN inspection practitioners working in every IMCA region and for them to complete the ADSI scheme leading to accreditation and inclusion in the ADSI register. These diving system inspectors will have followed the ADSI scheme route to certification, and it is they who IMCA will consider having the competence to complete an IMCA DESIGN inspection.
The Accredited Diving Inspectors Course has been developed in line with the IMCA ADSI scheme and designed to provide an awareness of the competence requirements and process of completing an IMCA DESIGN inspection. This training course is aimed at those who are hoping to join the IMCA ADSI Scheme and become an IMCA approved inspector.
