Malakoff Limited is Shetland's leading engineering, fabrication and boat building company. Malakoff Limited has a long and illustrious standing in Shetland that goes back over 100 years.
Malakoff are proud to be a key member of the aquaculture industry and currently provide a number of their services to the local salmon, mussel, and fishing industries.
In the aquaculture industry, they fabricate new workboats in both steel and aluminium; carry out fish factory modifications, and provide divers for mort removal and net inspections.
They have vast underwater maintenance and repair experience and have the necessary facilities, plant and expertise to carry out all harbour works and in-water vessel repairs. Dive teams located in Shetland and Orkney are well placed to carry out the various diving services offered. Malakoff are also Lloyds and DNV approved for in-water hull surveys and can undertake detailed inspection and control surveys on any marine structure.
After reviewing their dive maintenance system, Malakoff decided to look for an online maintenance management system to help maintain and track their equipment maintenance. After receiving a demonstration of NAMS, Namaka was delighted when Malakoff announced that they had chosen NAMS as their preferred content management system.
Namaka Asset Management System (NAMS) is a cloud-based management system developed to support Diving, ROV and Marine equipment allowing approved personnel to access equipment records via any mobile device with an internet connection around the clock. NAMS is the first diving asset management system of its kind, allowing users to coordinate equipment maintenance and reduce administration tasks for dive teams. It can also be configured to deliver reports directly to their inbox and is fully compliant with international diving equipment requirements and project management scheduling.
Malakoff's Diving Manager Jonathan Haynes said: "We're delighted to be working with the NAMS system for all our diving maintenance. The easy access to the cloud-based system allows our teams to have full remote access to the system and allows our clients to do so as well. It allows our Diving Supervisors to check certification or record faults of any project-specific equipment using QR codes on phones or tablets. We've already seen the benefits of using the system and technical support provided by the Namaka Team from both the audit and tendering perspectives. The use of NAMS will allow our diving department to work towards our long-term aim of becoming an IMCA Diving accredited company in the next five years."
